Questions
Questions we hear most
Do you drill wells?
No. Our driller partner is a separate company with its own rig and crew. We coordinate with them, then do the pump, tank, lines and winter protection. You see two written prices, one for the hole and one for everything after it.
Will my water line freeze?
Any line can freeze if the heat or the power fails. We plan with that in mind: a depth chosen for your ground, insulation, heat trace on its own labeled breaker, and a way to drain the lines down if the place sits empty.
Do you work in winter?
Yes, for frozen lines, failed pumps and heat trace. New wells and long trenches wait for workable ground, so we book those for summer. If something froze, call and we will tell you when we can be there.
Do you go off the road system?
Sometimes. We charter a plane, and pumps, tanks and parts go in it; the truck does not. Fly-in jobs are quoted case by case, with the flight as its own line. The service area page says where we have flown and where we drive.
Is the well in your price?
No. The driller prices the hole, and we price what comes after it. The pricing page says what moves each number and when you see it in writing.
How do I send you photos of the place?
Text them to (907) 555-0100 along with the road you are on and where the house sits. Photos of the lot, the power pole and the road in help us give you a first idea on the phone.
How deep will my well be?
That depends on the lot. In the Fairbanks area some wells find water shallow and some go deep, and the driller learns the answer as the hole goes down. Neither of us can promise depth or flow before it is drilled.
What if the hole comes up dry?
Ask the driller how a dry hole is charged before you book, and get the answer in writing. Their options are usually to go deeper or to try another spot, and each has its own cost. We help you weigh them.
How do I know a plumber is licensed here?
Ask for the license number and look it up with the state. Our numbers are in the footer of every page, with the link to the state's lookup page.
Do you pull permits?
When the work needs one, yes. Permit rules depend on where the place is, and we tell you what we know and who to ask.
Still not sure?
Call and ask
Say where the place is and what has gone wrong. We will tell you what we know.
